“Eagle festival” will be held in Chingisiin khuree complex on March 9-10. It is an annual festival to promote and pass traditions, heritages, and unique cultures of the Kazakh nation in anticipation of the spring season and Nauryz holiday. Organizations, such as Ministry of Environment and Tourism, The Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Department, Chingis Khan khuree complex, Mongolian eagle hunters association and Culture department of Bayan-Ulgii province are organizing “Eagle festival”.

During the Eagle Festival, the best eagle, the best national costume, horse and eagle equipment will be selected.

This tradition of domesticating and hunting birds of prey originated 6000 years ago among the nomads of Central Asia and has been preserved until now. In 2010, our country officially registered the tradition in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
