Gankhuleg.M, Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, has informed that Mongolia exported 80.2 thousand tons of meat last year. This is a five-fold increase from 2022.

Heat-processed meat was previously exported from Mongolia to China. Now, Mongolia is considering to export eviscerated whole meat to Gulf countries. Meat exporting companies bought alive sheep from the herdsman’s town, and exported 362 thousand head of livestocks to the Gulf countries.

Furthermore, stock trading has activated from January 17, 2024. As for February 21, 303.73 tons of sheep, 111.56 tons of cattle, 26.51 tons of goat, 147.2 tons of horse meat were traded on the exchange. Totally, 588.8 tons of meat costs 5.3 billion MNT were traded.
