Mongolia’s National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring warned that heavy snow and blizzards are expected to hit large parts of Mongolia in the next three days.
The weather monitoring agency warned the public, especially nomadic herders and drivers, to take extra precautions against possible disasters.
According to the agency, almost all provinces of Mongolia have experienced harsh weather conditions this winter, and around 90 percent of the country has been blanketed by snow.
Last week, four people, including two children, were found dead after being trapped in their car by heavy snow in the eastern province of Sukhbaatar.
The Asian country’s climate is strongly continental, with long, frigid winters and short, warm summers.
