Mongolian Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg to visit Australia on Tuesday for a four-day official visit at the invitation of her counterpart.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia said B.Battsetseg will pay an official visit to Canberra from 12-15 September at the invitation of Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
“During the visit, Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg will pay a courtesy call on Presiding Officers of the Australian Parliament, hold talks with Foreign Minister Penny Wong, meet with the chair and members of the Australia-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group and other high-level officials to discuss bilateral relations, particularly expanding trade and economic cooperation, collaboration in the education, mining and agriculture sectors, strengthening people-to-people ties as well as exchanging views on regional and international issues,” it said.
She will also deliver a lecture on “Mongolia’s Foreign Policy: Northeast Asia” at the Australian Institute of International Affairs.
“The foreign minister’s visit to Australia is of great importance, as it is the inaugural high-level visit to be implemented after the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Australia,” the statement added.
