Chinggis Khaan International Airport launches electronic border control system

Chinggis Khaan International Airport launched the E-gates electronic border control system for the first time. It was developed within the state unified electronic system E-Mongolia.

This technology will allow citizens of Mongolia to independently pass border control when entering and leaving Mongolia. The passenger will have to show a passport with an electronic information carrier to the scanner.

The automated border crossing system includes document readers and high-definition video cameras.

To pass the border, the passenger applies a biometric passport to the scanning window of the E-gates. The information in the document is automatically entered into the database, after which it is compared with the restrictive lists. If the passenger’s involvement in the lists is not revealed, they cross the border within half a minute. Otherwise, the system gives a signal.
