Inflation in Mongolia, measured by the consumer price index, rose 11.3 percent year-on-year in April, data from the country’s National Bureau of Statistics showed. The increase was mainly due to higher prices for imported goods, especially food.
More than half of about 400 consumer baskets of goods and services are imported.
Mongolia set a goal of bringing inflation down to single digits by the end of this year, the country’s central bank said.
