The air relations agreement between Mongolia and Qatar was finally approved at a cabinet meeting.

The General Directorate of Civil Aviation emphasizes that when the agreement enters into force, the air carriers of the two countries will operate flights of direct and commercial cooperation.

The national carrier MIAT has been appointed as the air carrier on the Ulaanbaatar-Doha route. Passengers and cargo can be transported from Ulaanbaatar to the Western Asian and North African countries, and the Mongols can use Qatar Airways.

As of today, Qatar Airways flies to 150 destinations in 90 countries. It served 18.5 million passengers in 2022, and achieved a record net profit of USD 1.54 billion in fiscal year 2021-2022.

In addition, Mongolia has the opportunity to cooperate with the Qatar Aeronavigation Academy. Qatar Aeronavigation Academy offers IDP IELTS courses for pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers, meteorologists, airport operations personnel, security and immigration officers.
