Mongolian wrestler M.Lkhagvagerel won the gold medal in the men’s 125kg freestyle category at the Asian Wrestling Championships, which took place in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 9-14.
The 25-year-old defeated host wrestler Yusup Batirmurzaev in the final bout on Friday, becoming the first Mongolian heavyweight wrestler to win an Asian gold in 22 years.
Bronze medals were shared by China and India.
