Mongolia organizes Level 1 coaching course of WABC

Mongolia and Sri Lanka successfully organised  World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) Level 1 coaching courses. The course  was organised by the FIBA Regional Office – Asia in coordination with the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation (SLBF) and Mongolia Basketball Association (MBA).

The course in Sri Lanka, conducted by WABC instructor Milan Kotarac, was held in back-to-back sessions from 21 November to 3 December.

The course in Mongolia, conducted by WABC instructor Koh Koon Teck, was held from 5-10 December.

S.Tugsjargal, Secretary General of MBA, said: “MBA aims to improve the skills of our coaches, referees, and all participant of our basketball.  We are very happy that the Regional Office helps us with this.”

“Last week we hosted WABC Level 1. All coaches of the Mongolian league participated in the course. I hope our coaches will share their new knowledge of basketball to players and other coaches. We really appreciate the regional office for supporting us.” 

Coach A.Erdene, a participant of the course, said: “It was an honor to be a part of the course. The Mongolian coaches had great a week because most of the professional team coaches were included in coaches clinic and learned, shared experience each other. We had a good time and made conversation between us Mongolian basketball coaches.”

The course started with classroom sessions and was followed by on-court sessions to help the participants implement the information they received. 

These courses are part of the Regional Office’s continuous efforts to improve the national federations, including the coaches, who are an integral part of basketball games.
