The Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5 has been dominating in Mongolia in recent weeks.

The two subvariants currently account for at least 10 percent of new daily infections in the country. Experts estimated that the subvariants  accounted for 80 to 95 percent of all infections since July.

Health Ministry urged the public to follow relevant health protocols and take a fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose.

A total confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Mongolia reached to 973,272.

So far, almost 70 percent of the Mongolian population of 3.4 million has received two COVID-19 vaccine doses, while 32 percent have received a booster or third dose.
