The Mongolian Armed Forces and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command have announced their participation in Exercise Khaan Quest 2022. The international military exercise is taking place at the Five Hills Training Area in Mongolia.
The 14-day exercise is aimed at enhancing interoperability, building military to military relationships, developing peace support operations and military readiness among participating nations.
Khaan Quest 2022 includes a combined brigade-level command post exercise and battalion-level field training exercise. It focuses on peace keeping operations within a realistic scenario and coordination with humanitarian organizations and host nation partners.
Approximately 94 U.S. personnel and 956 partner-force personnel are expected, totaling 1050 exercise participants.
Khaan Quest 22 will provide participants United Nations training and certification through realistic peace support operations and will enhance UN PKO interoperability and military relationships among the participating nations. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Mongolia’s first UN peacekeeping contribution.
