The Earth Hour event first took place in Sydney in 2007 with some two million people switching off their lights. Earth Hour 2022 will take place on Saturday 26 March, when millions of people in over 170 countries across the world will switch off their lights for one hour to show that they care about the future of our planet.

Ulaanbaatar citizens will switch off their lights as part of the Worldwide Fund for Nature”s (WWF) Earth Hour. Buildings surrounding central squares of the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar will be in darkness for an hour.

Mongolia has been participating in the annual campaign since 2010.
