Mongolia has launched a nationwide adult health campaign for entire population. The campaign will start from 1 May for early detection of serious diseases.
The move aims to reduce the risk of fatal diseases among Mongolian citizens, and narrow the life expectancy gap between men and women. In Mongolia, the average life expectancy is 70.8 years for women and 60.6 years for men. Mongolian Government aims to reduce the gap to five years by 2024.
Cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, cancers, and traumatic injury are now the leading causes of death in Mongolia.
A total of MNT 60.8 billion (about USD 21.3 million) from the state budget will be used to support the preventive and early-detection checkups this year.
The government-financed checkups designed to cover a population of 3.4 million will also help improve Mongolia’s health data.
