Today (11 August), Mongolia reported 1433 new cases of coronavirus; 524 of them were in Ulaanbaatar city and 909 in the country’s 21 provinces. Unfortunately, three people – all aged over 80 – have died of Covid-19; bringing the total death toll in the country to 863.
However, there does seem to be some good news: Covid-19 related deaths have been decreasing since 1 August as a result of the mass vaccination programme. Currently, 2.2 million people including children aged 12-17 and pregnant women have received the first doses of the Covid-19 vaccines; so far, 2 million have had the second jabs. The country of three million started its vaccination roll-out in mid-February.
To date, Mongolia has had 176993 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
