The Mongolian Health Ministry has reported today (16 June), that nine people including a 22-year-old man have died of Covid-19. According to the source, the young man has not been vaccinated; the others who deaths were aged between 49 and 80s died and were undergoing treatment at hospital.
So far, 389 people have died of Covid-19 since October, 2020 when the country of three million confirmed its first case of local transmission.
Mongolia has confirmed 2395 new cases of coronavirus; some 600 of them are children.
Mongolia started its vaccination roll-out in mid-February aiming to cover 60 percent of its population. According to the ‘Law on Immunization’ approved in 2020, vaccinations against coronavirus are not obligatory.
