Today (3 June), 20 tonnes of finest cashmere were delivered to Italy from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. This was the first time that Khangbogd Cashmere delivered its product directly to Italy by land. The journey time for the prized Mongolian commodity was achieved within 20 days; previously, it has been shipped via China taking 90 days!

The country’s finest cashmere that meets the Mongolian Noble Fibre standard has already been recognized by world brands. However, Mongolia is now aiming to realize its decade old dream of producing the final goods locally rather than exporting its cashmere to foreign countries. Currently, only a handful of countries have to monopoly to conduct large-scale final processing – most notably Italy.

The Mongolian Noble Fibre trademark represents high-quality products that meet world standards and have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner. The trademark indicates the origin and quality of the product. The company Khanbogd Cashmere LLC, that will export the next consignment of 100 tons, was awarded the trademark last year.
