The Covid-19 situation in Mongolia has stabilized as daily new cases have dropped to between 500 and 600. In April, the country of three million reported over 1000 new cases on a daily basis and Government issued 28 days of strict lockdown. The month-long strict lockdown and intensified vaccination contributed to the decreasing number of new cases.
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 death toll has not been decreasing; at present 115 people are in a critical condition.
Today (17 May), Mongolia confirmed 533 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number to 49175. Furthermore, seven people aged 51-79 have died while receiving treatment in hospitals.
