Mongolia has started a COVID-19 vaccination programme for foreign nationals in the country, the Foreign Ministry reported.

“Foreigners living in Mongolia are being vaccinated against COVID-19 on a voluntary basis. Foreign nationals who wish to be vaccinated can recieve injections at nearby vaccination sites,” the ministry said in a statement.

There are now around 14,500 foreign nationals in Mongolia who have permanent residency permits.

Mongolia launched its national vaccination campaign in late February, with the aim of vaccinating at least 60 percent of its 3.3 million population. So far, a million people have been vaccinated against the virus.
