Today (26 April), Mongolia confirmed 856 new cases of coronavirus; this brings the total tally to 31339. Furthermore, two more people have died of the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 80.

Separately, 1060 people were discharged from hospitals in last 24 hours after having fully recovering from Covid-19. This is the first time in recent months that Mongolia has reported more recoveries than new daily Covid-19 cases.

Due to the recent upsurge in coronavirus infections, the country of three million had extended the nationwide lockdown until 7 May.
