Mongolians with chronic diseases and HIV to get Pfizer vaccine

As of today (25 March), Mongolia has vaccinated over 244 thousand people above the age of 18. The coronavirus vaccination rollout is ongoing.

Under the international COVAX programme, Mongolia has also received Pfizer vaccines. The government decided to vaccinate people with HIV and those who have undergone organ transplant surgery, dialysis using 12870 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. This is for safety reasons. According to one source, 690 people with dialysis, 1547 people who had organ transplant surgery and 260 people with HIV will take thePfizer shots.

Currently, more than 2000 elderly people above the age of 65 are taking the Covid-19 vaccines.

Mongolia is vaccinating its two million population (above 18) with four vaccines, namely:AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Sputnik-5 and Pfizer.

Mongolian PM L.Oyun-Erdene started the nationwide vaccination rollout by getting the first dose of AstraZeneca on 23 February.
