Star Trek legend Nichelle Nichols wears traditional Mongolian deel

Star Trek star Nichelle Nichols wearing a traditional Mongolian deel as she meets her younger character actress Loren Lott. The white deel  perfectly matches her hair.

The sci-fi legend, 88, was in California for the new film from the franchise Renegades: Ominara. Nichols played Nyota Uhura in the Original Series in the Sixties alongside William Shatner, 89, and Leonard Nimoy, who died in 2015.

Nichelle reprises her role for the new flick with Loren, 28, playing a younger version of Uhura.

The Mongolian deel (pronounced as a long ‘dell’ not ‘deal’). Is a traditional tunic and represents the national dress. Mongolians wear the deel with pride at national events and family celebrations.
