Mongolia started its vaccination rollout against COVID-19 on 23 February and is aiming to vaccinate 60 percent of the population above the age of 18.
Currently, more than 20 thousand people working in health sector and first response workers have received the first dose of the vaccines.
To increase the vaccination programme, the government, has set up over 80 posts in Ulaanbaatar; these make it possible to vaccinate some 15 thousand people a day.
Earlier today (9 March), Mongolia confirmed 36 new cases of coronavirus; three of them in Tuv Province (adjacent to the capital) and the remainder in Ulaanbaatar; bringing the total tally in the country to 3372. So far, 82 percent or 2765 percent of people with COVID-19 have fully recovered.
Yesterday (8 March), Mongolia confirmed a record number of new cases of coronavirus as 108 people were confirmed with COVID-19. Sadly, a sixth person with the virus has died.
