Mongolia’s COVID-19 cases surpasses 3000

Earlier today (3 March), Mongolia confirmed 32 new cases of coronavirus after running over 17 thousand tests in laboratories nationwide. According to the Health Ministry, 23 of the people had been under observation, eight people had been identified in the recent mass testing programme, as having had direct conduct with confirmed cases, and a person was diagnosed with COVID-19 from unknown sources.

So far, Mongolia’s total confirmed cases of coronavirus has reached 3032; the good news is that 78 percent of 2360 people with covid-19 recovered.

The country of three million has 2513 has local transmissions – of them, 2187 are from Ulaanbaatar. Due to prompt and strict measures, such as closing the borders, Mongolia managed to avoid any local transmissions until last November.

Separately, 30 people have been discharged from the National Centre for Communicative Diseases after having recovering from coronavirus.
