Mongolian Minister of Health S.Enkhboldhas said that Mongolia’s COVID-19 vaccination rollout is planned to start on 23 February, once the strict lockdown measures are lifted.
Last week, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene confirmed that Mongolia is concluding agreements to AstraZeneca’s and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines as approved by the World Health Organization, and is also awaiting approval for the Sputnik V and Sinopharm vaccines from Russia and China respectively.
Therefore, the government is planning to vaccinate 60 percent of its population – or over 2 million people above the age of 18.
Firstly, health workers, people with chronic diseases and senior citizens will receive the first 300 thousand jabs.
