A virtual travel fair entitled ‘Cheap Vacation’ is taking place from 27 January to 31 March. The event is being co-organised by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Ulaanbaatar Tourism Department, the Mongolian Tourism Association, the Mongolian Hotels Association NGO and iHotel LLC.

The Environment Ministry has set a goal to support tour operators, tourist camps, resorts, and hotels in the tourism industry amid the COVID-19 crisis. The virtual travel fair is aimed at boosting the domestic tourism industry and providing discounts and special offers for customers.

At the expo, over 80 tourism businesses including hotels, resorts, and tourist camps based in Ulaanbaatar and rural areas are for the first time offering their services at up to 50 percent discount and allowing customers to plan their travel beforehand at discounted prices.

In addition, the online event is allowing its visitors to know more about the capital city Ulaanbaatar, the  21 provinces, local tourism products and services, and the wide range of natural, historical, and cultural heritage attractions.
