Mongolia is planning to send four chartered flights in February to bring home more nationals stranded overseas due to thepandemic, the country’s foreign ministry said on Wednesday.
About 840 Mongolian nationals are expected to return home from South Korea, Japan and Turkey on the planned flights.
Following its suspension of international commercial flights due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mongolia has brought around 28,400 nationals home by chartered flights, buses or trains from 93 countries.
As of Wednesday, more than 8,600 Mongolian nationals abroad have expressed their wish to return home.
