The import and export goods volume via Erenhot, the largest crossing point on the China-Mongolia border, rose 13.5 percent on the previous year to more than 17 million tonnes in 2020, according to the port’s customs.
In 2020, around 14.7 million tonnes of goods were imported via Erenhot, up 11.9 percent in volume, while exports weighing about 2.44 million tonnesincreased by 24.3 percent compared with the same period in 2019.
Erenhot Port, an important channel for international cargo in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has 43 China-Europe freight train routes passing through it.
Outbound trains from Erenhot have destinationsincluding Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany. The imported and exported goods carried by freight trains through Erenhot, in both directions, include timber, auto parts, textile products and more.
