Earlier today (18 January), Mongolia reported nine new cases of covid-19, namely: four people who have had direct contact with a chemist confirmed with coronavirus, three street cleaners from Bayanzurkh District and two people who are under quarantine.
Yesterday (17 January), a patient who was admitted to the First Central Hospital was also diagnosed with coronavirus. According to officials, the Covid-19 patient had let the symptoms worsen without knowing them to be coronavirus. The patient mistook the symptoms of Covid-19 with flu and openly visited two primary healthcare hospitals such Ulaanbaatar’s Chingeltei District General Hospital and the Songdo Hospital, in so doing – potentially infecting many people.
So far, Mongolia has 1525 confirmed cases of coronavirus; 1025 of them are local transmissions and 699 of them are in Ulaanbaatar. As of today, 967 people have fully recovered.
