MIAT to conduct repatriation charter flight to Seoul

Mr. L.Munkhtushig, Director General of the Consular Department of the MongolianForeign Ministry reported that Mongolian Airlines (MIAT) will conduct a charter flight to South Korea on 15 January. Some 150-160 Mongolians are expected to be repatriated with the Seoul flight. A total of  4692 Mongolians who are stranded in South Korea have applied for seats on the flights; over 1600 of them have emergency needs.

The planned charter flight between Ulaanbaatar and Seoul was cancelled in December due to the deteriorating coronavirus situation in South Korea. The National Emergency Commission had planned four charter flights for the repatriation of Mongolians stranded in foreign countries during December. Two MIAT flights to Frankfurt wereconducted successfully on Wednesday and Thursday. However, the planned charter flight to Seoul on 25 December was cancelled. Regarding Japan, MIAT  conducted the last charter flight of 2020 to Tokyo on Sunday 20 December.
