Mongolia’s COVID-19 cases reach 1286

The number of COVID-19 infections in Mongolia rose to 1286 after 23 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, Mongolia’s National Centre for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) reported onMonday (1 January). A total of 19 people from epicenters of coronavirus, namelyUlaanbaatar’s Bayanzurkh District General Hospital and Munkhada Toyota Centre Company have confirmed on testing. Two passengers of charter flight from Tokyo on 20 December also tested positive, bringing the total number of imported cases in Mongolia to 408. Furthermore, some doctors and nurses from the Central Military Hospital have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

Mongolia has so far recorded one COVID-19-related death at the end of 2020 since confirming its first case in March, 2020.
