The Mongolian Government on Wednesday decided to allow public kindergartens with 12 or more classes to open nursery classes starting from the next academic year or 1 September, 2021.
A nursery class will have no more than 15 children aged 1-2, a teacher and two teaching assistants, according to the government’s press office.
The state budget is expected to cover the cost of providing toys to the nursery classes, creating a child-friendly and safe environment, and other necessary expenses.
It is estimated that nursery classes will be opened at 60 public kindergartens in the 2021-2022 academic year, and the country’s 240 kindergartens will have such classes in the next four years.
Nursery classes will primarily cover children in need of care or those from poor households, the government’s press office said.
