Mongolia has received buses from the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ. The vehicles are designed to operate in the world’s coldest capital city. Mongolia’s climate is classed as extreme continental. Air temperatures in winter can be as low as 49C below zero, this is why all the options that allow automobiles to operate in extremely cold weather are a must for shipments to Mongolia.
It is not the first batch of vehicles from MAZ that has been shipped to Mongolia. Minsk and Ulaanbaatar have been partners for a long time. MAZ delivers vehicles to the region every year. For instance, in 2015 a number of new MAZ-215 buses rolled out onto the streets of Mongolian cities. In 2020, MAZ in association with OOO Pozhsnab delivered over 70 special vehicles to Mongolia such as firefighting trucks, ladder trucks, and vehicles for foam firefighting. A number of other vehicles such as a command vehicle and a mobile hospital with a decontamination station were part of the shipment.
MAZ is one of Belarus’ largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. MAZ is a well-known international brand. MAZ vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards Euro-5 and Euro-6. The company makes a total of over 500 models and modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, and chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment.
