Mongolia has launched a campaign to test at least one member of each household in its capital city of Ulaanbaatar for the COVID-19 virus.

The campaign dubbed “One Citizen-One Household” began on 4 December and is set to continue until 11 December.

Home to more than 1.4 million people, Ulaanbaatar  has more than 410,000 households, according to the country’s National Statistics Office.

The Mongolian Government imposed nationwide lockdown on 12 November, following the first case of local transmission two days previously. The lockdown aims  to halt the spread of the virus and facilitate contact tracing.
