The Mongolian Government issued a‘second degree’ emergency situation until 1 December after failing to take full control of local transmissions.

Residents of Mongolia’s capital of Ulaanbaatar have been told to stay at home as part of the nationwide lockdown measures. Police and military personnel have been deployed to ensure compliance.

According to Ts.Ganzorig, the National Emergency Commission and the Cabinet will decide on Sunday (29) whether to extend the emergency situation period or not. Some sources report that the Cabinet might lower the emergency level and allow businesses to re-open.
