Today (24 November), Mongolia confirmed 32 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number in the country to 672. So far, 342 people have fully recovered and there have been no deaths.
These figures may seem miniscule compared to other countries. However, when one considers that all of the local transmissions have occurred within the last few weeks; before this the virus was very much under control.
As for today, there are 235 cases of local transmissions in the capital of Ulaanbaatarand five provinces of Mongolia. The largest number of local transmissions reported has been in Selenge Province where 124 people tested with coronavirus following 54 in Ulaanbaatar, 20 in Darkhan-Uul Province, 17 in Orkhon Province, 14 in Dornogobi and three in Gobisumber Province.
In Ulaanbaatar, coronavirus has been reported in five districts namely, 17 confirmed cases in Bayanzurkh, 11 in bothSonginokahirkhan and Sukhbaatar, nine in Chingeltei and five in Khan-Uul.
