A new maternity hospital with 300 beds opened in the Khan-Uul district of Ulaanbaatar in October. The hospital has a capacity of receiving 10-12 thousand pregnant women and 5-6 thousand children in-patients and 120 thousand mothers and children as out-patients. The hospital was constructed with financing of MNT 39 billion. Covering 2.4 hectares and seven blocks, the new maternity hospital building has eight floors.
Due to the Covid 19 emergency, the maternity hospital will now receive patients or suspected people with coronavirus infection as Mongolia confirms its first local transmissions. Currently, a total of 681 medical workers are working at the hospital.
