The Central Bank of Mongolia stated on Monday, 2 November, that the combined savings of the public increased 22 percent year on year to 16.8 trillion Mongolian tugriks (almost USD 5.8 billion) at the end of the third quarter.
The bank issued the report after it ended a month-long nationwide awareness campaign, intended to make the public more aware of the importance savings and financial literacy. The awareness campaign was linked to activities held in Mongolia to mark World Savings Day, which comes on 31 October every year throughout the world.
Mongolia has been commemorating World Savings Day nationwide since 2017.
