Wearing face masks on public transport is not being enforced strongly enough in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia where, so far, there has not been any local transmission of coronavirus. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 340 confirmed cases – all imported.
From today (28 October), face coverings are now compulsory on public transportation by decree of newly-appointed Ulaanbaatar City Mayor D.Sumiyabazar.
The Emergency Commission of Ulaanbaatar has decided to continue the campaign of wearing masks and washing hands in order to prevent coronavirus. The campaign will now continue until 31 December, 2020.
