Yesterday (22 October), Belarus Ambassador Stanislav Chepurnoy, met with Chief of the Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency G.Ariunbuyan.
The two discussed prospects for the further development of cooperation between Minsk and Ulaanbaatar in the field of emergency prevention and response. Belarus is a leader in heavy automotive manufacture and had long supplied Mongolia with mining vehicles from the BelAz plant. More recently, Minsk has supplied new buses to Ulaanbaatar’s fleet. Cooperation with NEMA has involved the delivery of fire engines.
Belarus and Mongolia have similar approaches to the key matters on the international agenda, oppose the idea of a unipolar world, and advocate the interests of small and medium-sized countries.
Mongolia was one of the first countries to recognize the sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus in December 1991. The countries established diplomatic relations on 24 January 1992. The Belarusian Embassy in Mongolia opened in 2014.
