At today’s session, the Mongolian Parliament discussed the 2021 State Budget and Relevant Laws. The Cabinet has planned to maintain the monthly allowances for children that have been raised to MNT 100,000 in May as a part of the Covid-19 relief package.  Therefore, the Cabinet projected a total of MNT 864 billion in the 2021 State Budget for distributing monthly allowances to 1.2 million children under age 18.

Parliament has approved a total of MNT 547.5 billion for monthly allowances for children between 1 April and 1 October.

The “Child Money Program,” previously approved in 2006 originally provided MNT 20,000 per child per month.
