MIAT, Mongolian airlines has conducted 84 Government chartered flights to pandemic-hit countries since it first repatriated 33 students from Wuhan in China in late February. Mongolia has repatriated a total of 23,354 of its nationals from 81 countries by rail, road, and, most notably by air; to date some 17,000 nationals have been evacuated with charter flights.
Mongolia plans 11 charter flights for evacuating 2560 of its nationals in October.
So far, some 9000 Mongolians stranded in foreign countries have applied to take charter flights; 3000 of them have emergency needs. Most of these individuals are in the USA, South Korea and Europe.
