Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia held a virtual meeting on the partnership with Facebook and corresponding organizations about fighting against fake news during local elections. The local council elections election will be held on 15 October.

Representatives of the General Election Commission, the General Intelligence Agency, the National Police Agency, the General Agency for Specialized Inspection, and the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection as well as ‘Faro Foundation’ NGO and Facebook and corresponding officials participated in the meeting.

On agenda of the meeting was illegal content published on Facebook during the 2020 parliamentary election, cooperation in implementing the legislation on elections and projects and programs being implemented by Facebook in Mongolia.
