Seasonal flu vaccination programs can be a critical component to help countries combat disease outbreaks and pandemics. This is particularly so in Ulaanbaatar, which is regarded as the world’s coldest capital and regularly experiences bone-chilling winter lows of minus 40 degrees Celsius. During the coming flu season, the country is implementing ‘10 Days of Immunization’ for the 26th year on 1-10 October. Over these ten days, Mongolia plans to vaccinate target groups such as children under age 9 and health workers for free of charge.
Recently, Mongolia has imported vaccines against A /H1,N1/ and B /H3, N2/ from the Green Gross company in South Korea .The influenza A and B viruses, has been reported as one of the urgent public health issues worldwide due to annually substantial morbidity and mortality among the world population.
