Mongolia back to normal but without opening the borders

Yesterday (14 September), the Mongolian Cabinet held an irregular meeting at the request of the National Emergency Commission; the following decisions were made:

-Cultural and public events, retail, production and entertainment centres will be re-opened from 16 September.

-Schools, universities and kindergarten will begin operation normally from 21 September.

– The 14 days self-isolation rule will be cancelled.

-However, government organisations and local administrations and judicial institutions will remain under advanced emergency readiness until 31 October.

In other words, Mongolia has returned to normal without opening its borders. The country of three million has had 310 confirmed cases of coronavirus; 300 of them are recovered. Due to very prompt and strict measures, there has been no local transmission of the virus.
