All state-owned and local museums across Mongolia are now providing free entry to children. Under a decree of the Mongolian Minister of Culture, state-owned and local museums are obliged to offer free entry to children under the age of 18 from 1 September.

The decision aims to promote patriotic spirit among the younger generation, pass on traditional culture and customs to future generations, and enhance the role of museums in children’s education.

Mongolia established a new ministry of culture after this year’s regular parliamentary elections, with the aim of protecting and promoting national values and heritage, as well as historical and cultural traditions and customs.
