Today (13 August), the twin girls who were born in mid-air have been discharged from the National Centre for Communicative Diseases after a month-long treatment and observation period. The twins named Enkhjiguur and Enkhtselmeg were born prematurely weighting 1.6 kg and 1.4 kg. The girls were welcomed by family members and the MIAT crew and doctors from the NCCD.

The twins were born in a Boeing aircraft, returning from the Turkish city of Istanbul which was evacuating 260 Mongolian nationals. The drama took place above the Black Sea; the twin girls were born while the plane was passing above the Russian resort of Sochi at 10.00 p.m. on 9 July. Therefore, the MIAT-chartered plane has ended up with two extra passengers on board after their the drama of labour and birth on above the clouds.
