Mongolia repatriates its nationals from India, Nepal and Vietnam

Mongolia plans to repatriate some 3500 of its nationals with 14 charter flights from pandemic-hit countries this month. Earlier today (6 August), A MIAT Boeing aircraft landed at Buyant-Ukhaa international airport repatriating 168 Mongolian nationals from the Indian capital of New Delhi.

Among the passengers evacuated from India, Nepal and Vietnam, were 114 monks, three people with health problems and a pregnant woman. They were immediately placed under isolation in the National Centre for Communicative Diseases, the Central Military Hospital and a dormitory of the Mongolian National University.

So far, Mongolia has had 293 confirmed cases of coronavirus with a recovery rate of 244 or 83.2 percent. There have been no deaths or local transmissions. Currently, 49 patients with coronavirus remain under treatment at the NCCD.
