It has been reported that Mongolian peacekeeper D.Ganbaatar died in South Sudan while participating in the UNMISS operation. According to a short statement by the Chief-of-Staff of the Mongolian Army, the peacekeeper died prematurely before Naadam Festival which took place on 11-15 July. He was confirmed as not having coronavirus.

Three Mongolian peacekeepers have died in South Sudan since 2012 when the country of three million started sending its troops to UNMISS operation.
