Many Mongolians are suffering from the COVID-19 lockdowns after being unable to return home and have any recourse to funds. Although, Mongolia has done much more than most countries in repatriating its citizens, many nationals still remain far from home and in great difficulty. Therefore, some Mongolians who had been stranded in Seattle, have spent many nights outside the Mongolian Embassy in the country. Fortunately, within 10 days, a kind Mongolian renovated his house to provide temporary shelter for those people.
There are more than 30 thousand Mongolians living in the USA; some 1200 of them have applied for places on a charter flight to return home.
