According to the meteorological agency, heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected in most parts of Mongolia during the Naadam holidays. Heavy rain is expected to fall in eastern parts of Mongolia such as Tuv, Khentii, Sukhbaatar, Dornogobi and Dornod Provinces on 10 July. Thunderstorms will continue in central and western parts of Mongolia on 12-14 July.
Since 1 July, there has been much flooding caused by heavy rains which have fallen every two days. In addition, the rainfall in 24 hours has been something not experienced for many years. For example, 88 mm of rain fell in Arkhangai, Bulgan and Khuvsgul Provinces.
